Exhibition Opening - Voulkos: The Breakthrough Years

Voulkos: The Breakthrough Years is the first exhibition to focus on groundbreaking artist Peter Voulkos’ early career, highlighting a defining period for the artist (1953 to 1968) during which he experimented with radical methods that fundamentally transformed the field of ceramics.  



Gallery Talk - June Schwarcz: Invention and Variation

Friday, March 17, 12 – 1pm.
Join chief administrator for the Renwick Gallery, Robyn Kennedy, as she discusses the innovative works of enamelist June Schwarcz. Kennedy will examine Schwarcz's mastery of the craft, looking at her inventive works that often times defy categorization. Learn more about the exhibition.

In honor of the centennial of WWI, May’s Handi-hour crafts will feature WWI-era embroidery and poppy pins.  Tickets go on sale May 1, so don’t miss your chance to get artsy, enjoy local craft beer, and listen to live music!  This event will take place on Wednesday, May 17 from 5:30-8 p.m. in the Rubenstein Grand Salon of the Renwick Gallery.  





Exhibition Opening - June Schwarcz: Invention and Variation

From March 10 to August 27, the Renwick Gallery is excited to host an exhibition from one of the most innovative enamelists of the 20th century, June Schwarcz. June Schwarcz: Invention and Variation is the first retrospective of the artists’ career and will feature nearly 60 artworks, some of which have never been publicly displayed.  Schwarcz is most celebrated for her pioneering work with electroplating as well as for her inventive designs.
