Exhibition Opening - Parallax Gap

Opens Saturday, July 1. Parallax Gap, transforms the Renwick Gallery's Bettie Rubenstein Grand Salon into a visual puzzle. This immersive, site-specific installation explores examples of interplay between craft and architecture through a ceiling-suspended structure running the length of the Renwick's iconic gallery.

Gallery Talk - Voulkos: The Breakthrough Years

Wednesday, April 19, 12 – 1pm. Join chief administrator for the Renwick Gallery, Robyn Kennedy, for a gallery talk on Voulkos: The Breakthrough Years.  She will discuss the influential potter's crucial body of early work, most of which has not been exhibited on the East Coast for four decades.

Join chief administrator for the Renwick Gallery, Robyn Kennedy, as she discusses the innovative works of enamelist June Schwarcz. Kennedy will examine Schwarcz's mastery of the craft, looking at her inventive works that often times defy categorization. Learn more about the exhibition. 

February 9 - Artist Talk with Steven Young Lee

Thursday, February 9, 2017, 5:30 – 6:30pm
Steven Young Lee discusses his porcelain forms and the dramatic "broken" silhouettes that characterize his work. Drawing on historic references from various Eastern and Western cultures, Lee challenges belief systems and notions of identity through these pieces.

Renwick Invitational Artist Talk with Jennifer Trask - Tuesday, Dec 6.

Tuesday, December 6, 2016, 5:30 – 6:30pm 

Join Jennifer Trask as she talks about how her lifelong fascination with biology, archaeology, and anthropology informs her arresting jewelry and large-scale sculptures made from unexpected materials such as bone, vertebrae, butterfly wings, resin, metal, and antique frame fragments.

Kristen Morgin's Clay Ephemera

Renwick Invitational 2016 artist Kristen Morgin sees her work as a "commentary on the value of things: the value of dirt is nothing, but it is also the stuff we walk on and supports us—it's valueless but also essential." Read more about how—and why—she recreates familiar objects such as Monopoly, toys, and vinyl records in unfired clay. 

Artist Talk with Norwood Viviano

Norwood Viviano combines traditional sculpture methods with 3D printing technology to create works that explore cultural and societal change. Through his work, he looks at changing landscapes and how we are effected by the growth and decline of industry. On October 13 at 5:30 pm, Viviano will discuss his work at the Renwick Gallery.
